40 Hours / Week Our client is seeking a Commercial Counsel to join its growing legal team in Chicago. This is an excellent opportunity for a pragmatic, business-minded attorney who enjoys partnering closely with Sales and cross-functional stakeholders while taking ownership of the commercial contracting process from negotiation through execution in a fast-paced technology environment. What You'll Do Own the lifecycle of customer and partner agreements from review through execution. Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including SaaS agreements, software licenses, customer contracts, partner agreements, and NDAs. Partner closely with Sales and other business stakeholders to help move deals forward while balancing legal risk and business objectives. Maintain and improve contract templates, playbooks, and contracting processes to support efficient deal execution. Advise on security, privacy, and compliance-related contractual provisions, including data processing agreements. Support employment-related documentation, internal policies, litigation support, and other day-to-day legal matters. Coordinate with outside counsel and collaborate with cross-functional teams on a variety of legal and operational initiatives. What You'll Bring JD from an accredited law school and active membership in at least one U.S. state bar. 3-5 years of experience negotiating commercial agreements, preferably in a SaaS or technology company. Strong experience with SaaS agreements, software licensing, NDAs, and customer-facing commercial contracts. Experience partnering directly with Sales and other cross-functional stakeholders. Ability to balance legal risk with practical business solutions in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with employment-related legal matters and security, privacy, or data processing agreements is a plus.
