Trusts & Estates Associate Salary - $135,000 - $155,000 Chicago An established, full-service boutique law firm is seeking a Trusts & Estates Associate Attorney with at least two years of relevant experience. They are looking for a dedicated attorney to join a thriving estate planning practice group and work directly alongside firm leadership on complex, high-value matters. Key Responsibilities Manage trust and estate administration matters independently from inception to resolution. Counsel high-net-worth clients on custom estate planning strategies, including tax minimization, creditor protection, and long-term family wealth transfer goals. Prepare federal gift tax returns alongside federal and state estate tax filings. Draft comprehensive estate planning instruments, including sophisticated wills, revocable/irrevocable trusts, and powers of attorney. Represent fiduciaries and beneficiaries in probate court proceedings. Conduct legal research to ensure compliance with shifting state and federal tax and estate laws. Qualifications Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school and active license in good standing with the Illinois Bar. 2+ years of dedicated Trusts & Estates experience, encompassing estate planning, trust administration, and probate. Exceptional legal drafting, analytical, and organizational skills with high attention to detail. Client-focused communication style and the ability to handle multiple active client files concurrently.
