About the Engagement As an independent contractor, you will take the lead on complex, high-stakes probate and trust litigation matters. You will serve as the lead strategist and fractional courtroom champion for our heavy-litigation files. While you won't be managing the day-to-day HR of the firm, you will act as the "lead architect" on these cases, guiding junior attorneys and support staff on execution. Accuracy, high-level writing, and decisive follow-through are non-negotiable.

Requirements (Non-Negotiable) Active, unrestricted license to practice law in Illinois. 10+ years of dedicated probate and trust litigation experience. 300+ probate cases handled from inception through resolution. Extensive, proven experience with high-stakes motion practice, contested hearings, and trials. Must carry your own Professional Liability (Malpractice) Insurance. Excellent legal writing, research, and courtroom advocacy skills.
