Lavelle Law is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Associate Attorney with 1 to 2 years of legal experience to join our growing Trust and Probate Administration practice group in Cook County. This role is ideal for a junior attorney looking to build a career in estate administration, probate litigation, and wealth transfer execution. You will work directly with experienced attorneys, handling matters across the Cook County Circuit Court Probate Division (Daley Center and suburban municipal districts). Work from our Loop office in the Board of Trade Building or our Schaumburg office. Key Responsibilities

Probate Administration:

Assist in opening, administering, and closing supervised and independent probate estates in Cook County. Prepare petitions, inventories, accounts, and executor deeds.

Trust Administration:

Work with trustees and beneficiaries to manage post-death trust distributions, trust accountings, notice compliance, and property transfers.

Court Appearances:

Present routine and contested motions, petitions for letters of office, and estate status calls in the Probate Division of the Circuit Court of Cook County.

Document Drafting:

Draft probate pleadings, deeds, asset assignment documents, trustee resolutions, and distribution agreements.

Client & Asset Management:

Interface directly with clients, corporate fiduciaries, accountants, and financial institutions to marshal estate assets, pay claims, and resolve tax liabilities. Qualifications

• 1-3 years of legal experience (general civil litigation, real estate, or transactional background welcome; prior probate/estate exposure preferred but not required).
• Active Illinois law license (or ability to obtain promptly).
• Familiarity with Cook County Local Rules and electronic filing systems (eFileIL / Odyssey).
• Strong legal drafting, research, and organizational skills.
• Empathetic communication style suited for clients navigating grief and family dynamics.
