A prominent national law firm is seeking a lateral associate to join its technology, data privacy, and cybersecurity practice. This is a strong opportunity to work on sophisticated data privacy, cybersecurity, and AI governance matters for clients across a broad range of industries. The firm is looking for candidates with roughly 5-7 years of experience in data privacy, cybersecurity, technology transactions, or information governance. Preferred backgrounds include privacy program development, AI governance and responsible AI deployment, incident response, and technology licensing and commercial contracting (cloud, software, and IT services agreements). Role and Responsibilities:
  • Counsel clients on data privacy, cybersecurity, and AI governance compliance matters.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate technology and commercial agreements.
  • Support incident response matters, including breach investigation, notification, and regulatory reporting.
  • Work cross-functionally with corporate, IP, and litigation colleagues to deliver integrated client solutions.

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • 5-7 years of substantive experience in data privacy, cybersecurity, technology transactions, or information governance at a law firm or in-house legal department.
  • Demonstrated experience drafting and negotiating technology-related agreements and advising on privacy compliance programs.
  • Strong drafting, analytical, and communication skills.
Benefits Anticipated Compensation and Benefits:
  • Competitive base salary ranging from $210,000 to $250,000, commensurate with qualifications, skills, location, and relevant experience.
