This position will focus primarily on representing clients in removal and deportation proceedings before the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR). The ideal candidate is a strong advocate who is comfortable managing removal defense cases from intake through resolution, appearing in immigration court, developing case strategy, and working directly with clients and their families.

Immigration - Removal Defense Key Responsibilities Represent clients in removal and deportation proceedings before EOIR. Prepare and litigate applications for relief, including applicable forms of relief such as asylum, cancellation of removal, adjustment of status, waivers, and other forms of relief as appropriate. Conduct legal research and develop case strategies based on the individual facts and circumstances of each case. Prepare pleadings, motions, briefs, applications, evidence, and supporting documentation. Prepare clients and witnesses for individual hearings, master calendar hearings, and other court proceedings. Conduct client consultations and clearly explain legal options, risks, and case strategy. Appear in immigration court and advocate on behalf of clients. Communicate effectively with clients, family members, and support staff. Review case files and ensure matters are progressing appropriately and within required deadlines. Work collaboratively with legal assistants, paralegals, and other members of the immigration team. Maintain accurate case notes, time entries, deadlines, and case status information in the firm's case management system. Provide appropriate direction and training to assigned support staff. Maintain compliance with professional responsibility requirements and firm procedures. Qualifications Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school. Active licenses and membership in good standing. Prior experience handling immigration removal defense cases is required. Experience appearing before EOIR/Immigration Court. Strong understanding of removal proceedings and available forms of relief. Ability to independently manage a removal defense caseload. Strong legal research, writing, negotiation, and oral advocacy skills. Excellent client communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple cases, deadlines, and competing priorities. Strong attention to detail and case organization. Bilingual English/Spanish skills are highly valued. This is not intended to be a primarily USCIS/family-based immigration position. Removal defense experience is a central requirement of the role. The attorney will work as part of a structured immigration team with dedicated support staff while maintaining responsibility for the legal strategy, advocacy, and progression of assigned cases.
