Description The Administrative Office of the Courts is the operational arm of the Judicial Branch. The court system employs nearly 3,300 personnel who support 406 elected justices, judges, and circuit court clerks. The Kentucky Court of Appeals has an immediate need for a Staff Attorney. The COA Staff Attorney is responsible for supporting a Court of Appeals judge by performing legal tasks and is responsible for reviewing legal briefs and appellate and high court records, conducting thorough legal research, preparing legal memoranda, analyzing cases, proofreading legal documents, and taking notes. Classification:
Review process of legal briefs and appellate records, ensuring thorough understanding and organized documentation. Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis of case materials for court cases. Prepare and edit drafts of opinions and orders, under guidance. Proofread legal documents. Communicate with attorneys upon the direction of the judge. Monitor for and provide summaries of recent legal developments and decisions. Perform other duties as assigned.

Education :
Juris Doctor degree - Graduate of an accredited law school
