Percy & Schutte is seeking an experienced Succession and Estate Planning Attorney to join our growing practice. We are looking for an attorney with at least 5 years of experience who is confident in managing a full caseload and can work independently under the supervision of the partners. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of estate planning and the ability to manage client matters from initial consultation through completion while providing thoughtful, responsive, and high-quality legal service. Responsibilities Independently manage a full caseload of estate planning matters. Meet with clients to understand their goals, family circumstances, financial considerations, and estate planning needs. Draft and review wills, trusts, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, and other estate planning documents. Handle estate planning matters from initial client consultation through execution and completion. Advise clients regarding succession, estate, trust and other related matters. Coordinate with financial advisors, CPAs, and other professionals when appropriate. Communicate directly and professionally with clients and manage client expectations. Maintain accurate and organized case files and meet deadlines without extensive supervision. Identify potential issues and develop practical solutions independently. Stay current on changes in estate planning and tax laws. Provide guidance and support to less-experienced attorneys and staff when needed. Qualifications Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school. Active license to practice law in Louisiana. Minimum of 5 years of relevant estate planning and succession experience is preferred. Strong knowledge of estate planning, trust, and a succession matters. Excellent legal writing, drafting, communication, and organizational skills. Comfortable working independently and making sound professional judgments with minimal guidance. Professional, personable, and problem solving approach. $70,000.00+ depending on experience and productivity.
