This position offers hands-on experience across multiple areas of law, including family law, criminal defense, immigration, personal injury, workers' compensation, and succession/estate matters. We are looking for an attorney who is eager to take initiative, prepare thoroughly, think critically, and advocate effectively for clients in and out of the courtroom. The ideal candidate is a strong writer, detail-oriented, capable of managing a fast-paced caseload, and committed to providing exceptional client service. Position Responsibilities Draft pleadings, motions, memoranda, discovery requests and responses, contracts, and legal correspondence; Conduct legal research using platforms such as Westlaw and LexisNexis; Manage and assist with cases involving: Family law and custody disputes; Criminal defense matters; Immigration cases; Personal injury litigation; Workers' compensation claims; Successions and estate planning; Prepare cases for hearings, mediations, depositions, and trial; Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and third parties; Review and analyze discovery, medical records, financial records, and evidence; Maintain organized case files and ensure compliance with court deadlines and procedural requirements; Attend court appearances, hearings, and client meetings as needed; Collaborate with attorneys and staff to develop litigation strategy and case management plans; Utilize case management systems and legal technology efficiently within a high-volume practice. Qualifications & Skills Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school; Licensed and in good standing to practice law in Louisiana; Strong legal research, analytical, and writing abilities; Experience drafting pleadings and litigation-related documents; Ability to manage deadlines and multiple cases simultaneously; Excellent oral advocacy and negotiation skills; Strong attention to detail and organizational skills; Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively within a team environment; Professionalism, initiative, and willingness to learn; Experience in litigation, courtroom practice, or clerkship experience preferred. Preferred Experience Family law litigation; Criminal defense; Immigration law; Personal injury litigation; Workers' compensation; Successions and estate administration; Motion practice and discovery management; Trial preparation and courtroom advocacy.
