About the OpportunityAn established Southwest Louisiana law firm is preparing to open a new office in Lafayette at the beginning of 2027 and is seeking an experienced Family Law Paralegal to join the team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned paralegal with a strong background in family law litigation to play an integral role in establishing and supporting the firm's Lafayette office.
ResponsibilitiesProvide comprehensive paralegal support throughout all stages of family law mattersAssist attorneys with case preparation, pleadings, discovery, motions, and trial preparationPrepare and organize legal documents, exhibits, and case filesConduct legal research and assist with drafting correspondence and legal documentsCommunicate with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and other partiesAssist attorneys with hearings, mediations, and trialsManage case calendars, deadlines, and court filingsMaintain accurate and organized case recordsProvide additional litigation and administrative support as neededQualifications3+ years of paralegal experienceStrong experience in family law litigationPrior experience supporting attorneys through litigation, hearings, and/or trialsStrong knowledge of family law procedures and court processesExcellent organizational and communication skillsAbility to manage multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced environmentStrong attention to detail and ability to work independentlyCompensation & Benefits$50,000-$70,000 annual salary, depending on experienceTwice-yearly bonuses based on firm performance401(k) with 3% employer matchHealth, dental, and vision insuranceEmployer-provided life insuranceConfidential mental health services paid for by the firmPaid vacationPaid holidaysPaid sick leave
