We are not looking for someone to simply sit behind a desk and conduct legal research. The attorney selected for this position will actively manage cases, communicate with clients and insurance companies, evaluate claims, negotiate settlements, handle litigation, and work directly with the firm's attorneys and staff. Compensation Salary range of $60,000 to $80,000 annually , depending on experience and qualifications. In addition to salary, the attorney will have the opportunity to receive a percentage of attorney fees on cases personally originated or brought into the firm , providing significant additional earning potential. Primary Responsibilities The attorney will assist with and ultimately manage a personal injury caseload from intake through resolution, including: Reviewing new personal injury cases and assisting with case strategy Establishing insurance claims and identifying all available insurance coverage Communicating with clients regarding treatment, case status, and case strategy Communicating and negotiating with insurance adjusters and defense counsel Reviewing medical records, medical bills, accident reports, photographs, insurance policies, and other evidence Evaluating personal injury claims and settlement value Preparing and sending settlement demands and supplemental demands Negotiating pre-litigation settlements Drafting petitions, motions, discovery, correspondence, and other litigation documents Responding to written discovery Taking and defending depositions as experience develops Preparing clients for depositions, mediations, and trial Attending court hearings, conferences, mediations, and other proceedings Monitoring deadlines, prescription, discovery, and litigation schedules Working with medical providers, experts, lienholders, insurance companies, and other parties involved in personal injury claims Assisting with settlement negotiations and final case resolution Maintaining regular communication with clients and ensuring their cases continue moving forward Qualifications Louisiana law license or eligibility for immediate admission 0-3 years of legal experience Interest in building a career in personal injury litigation Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage multiple cases, deadlines, and priorities Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Professional judgment and willingness to accept responsibility for assigned matters Ability to communicate effectively with clients from different backgrounds Willingness to learn, accept feedback, and develop as an attorney Personal injury experience is preferred but not required . We are willing to train the right attorney who demonstrates intelligence, initiative, professionalism, strong communication skills, and a genuine desire to become an excellent personal injury attorney. Opportunity for Growth This position offers substantially more than an entry-level salary. We want an attorney who can grow with the firm. As the attorney develops, the position can expand into greater responsibility for litigation, depositions, mediations, trial preparation, client development, case origination, and leadership within the firm. An attorney who develops their own referral relationships and brings cases into the firm will participate financially in those cases in addition to receiving their salary. If you want an opportunity to learn personal injury law by actually handling personal injury cases, working directly with clients, negotiating claims, participating in litigation, and developing your own book of business, we encourage you to apply
