Job Description
About the Role We are seeking a motivated Family Law Attorney with 0-5 years of experience to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career attorney looking to build a meaningful practice handling divorce, custody, support, and related domestic relations matters in Massachusetts courts. Responsibilities Represent clients in divorce, child custody, child support, alimony, paternity, and modification/contempt matters Draft pleadings, motions, financial statements, separation agreements, and parenting plans Appear in Massachusetts Probate and Family Court for hearings, pretrial conferences, and trials Conduct client consultations and manage an active caseload with professionalism and empathy Negotiate settlements and participate in mediation and conciliation when appropriate Conduct legal research and stay current on Massachusetts family law statutes and case law Collaborate with paralegals and support staff on case preparation Qualifications Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school Active member in good standing of the Massachusetts Bar (or eligible for admission - those sitting for the July 2026 bar will be considered) 0-5 years of legal experience; family law experience preferred but not required Strong writing, research, and oral advocacy skills Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to handle sensitive, high-emotion client situations with compassion Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines Proficiency with legal research tools (e.g., Westlaw) and case management software (Clio) What We Offer Competitive salary commensurate with experience Contribution towards health insurance Paid time off and firm holidays Mentorship and professional development support CLE reimbursement and bar dues coverage Collaborative, supportive team environment How to Apply Interested candidates should submit a resume, cover letter, and writing sample to Ashleigh Balistreri via email only at ashleigh@kingandfarrell.com.
