Job Description

Overview We are seeking an attorney specializing in Workers' Compensation Defense to join our legal team in a small but very busy Detroit area firm. This role requires the candidate to advocate for our clients by defending against workers' compensation claims on behalf of, primarily, insurance carriers and self-insured employers. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of prior workers' compensation experience. Duties Manage and defend workers' compensation claims from inception through resolution, including case investigation, strategy development, and litigation. Represent clients at hearings, mediations, depositions, and court proceedings while maintaining professionalism and adherence to procedural rules. Collaborate with claims adjusters, medical professionals, and experts to gather evidence and build strong defenses. Stay informed about developments in workers' compensation law and other relevant legal areas to provide comprehensive counsel. Requirements Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school with active bar admission in the State of Michigan Experience in workers' compensation law or related litigation fields such as personal injury or insurance defense. Excellent legal writing skills with the ability to draft clear and persuasive documents. Demonstrated negotiation skills capable of resolving disputes efficiently while protecting client interests.
Pay:
$65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
