Description We are looking for an accomplished Attorney/Lawyer to join a litigation practice in Southeast Michigan. This opportunity is suited for an experienced attorney with substantial experience managing sophisticated disputes from early case assessment through resolution in court or arbitration. The role calls for strong judgment, effective advocacy, and the ability to build persuasive strategies in complex civil and commercial matters.

Responsibilities:

• Lead complex litigation matters by shaping case strategy, evaluating legal risks, and guiding files from initial assessment through final resolution.
• Prepare and refine pleadings, briefs, and dispositive motions that present clear legal arguments and support the client's position effectively.
• Represent clients at court hearings and motion proceedings, delivering well-prepared oral arguments and responding confidently to judicial inquiries.
• Manage depositions, discovery planning, and evidentiary development to strengthen factual records and advance litigation objectives.
• Serve as first or second chair in trials and arbitration proceedings, contributing to witness preparation, presentation strategy, and overall advocacy.
• Conduct in-depth legal research and apply findings to develop practical, persuasive approaches for complex civil and commercial disputes.
• Collaborate with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders to communicate case developments, recommend next steps, and support informed decision-making. Requirements
• At least 5 years of experience practicing law with a strong background in complex commercial litigation matters.
• Active license to practice law and ability to appear in court on behalf of clients.
• Demonstrated experience drafting motions, briefs, pleadings, and other substantive litigation documents.
• Proven capability handling courtroom appearances, depositions, trials, and arbitration hearings as first or second chair.
• Strong knowledge of civil litigation procedures, discovery practice, and commercial litigation concepts.
• Excellent legal research, analytical reasoning, and persuasive writing skills.
• Effective verbal communication skills with the ability to advocate clearly before courts, clients, and opposing counsel.
• Strong academic credentials with a record of sound judgment and high-quality legal work.
