Job Description
Community Action Opportunities is a state and federal funded anti-poverty, non-profit agency recruiting a Family Service Associate (FSA). This position is responsible for recruitment, enrollment, and assisting families of enrolled children to set and achieve individual and family development goals while facilitating family engagement in their child's development and school readiness activities. Work includes recruiting and taking applications from eligible families with pre-school aged children, assessing family strengths and challenges, guiding and documenting family goal setting, progress, and evaluating and reporting outcomes. Work also requires confidentiality, judgement, initiative, accuracy and strong oral and written communication and teamwork skills. Work occurs under the general supervision of the Family Services Supervisor, and is evaluated through observation, conferences, goal achievement and significant Incidences that demonstrate job quality, quantity, timeliness and results. Work is formally reviewed, and future goals are set, during an annual performance appraisal. Prefer a Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related field and at least two years of experience working with families who have limited resources and pre-school children. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Bi-lingual Spanish preferred This is position is non-exempt under FLSA and is eligible for overtime pay
