Job Description

Shane Smith Law is a fast-paced personal injury law firm with 20+ attorneys and 100+ team members serving clients throughout North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia. Our mission is to provide exceptional service and access to quality medical care for clients who have been injured in accidents while helping maximize their physical and financial recovery. We are looking for a Subrogation Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for helping manage the subrogation process from beginning to end, including communicating with insurance companies, health plans, providers, and other third parties to identify, verify, negotiate, and resolve liens and subrogation claims. This is a detail-oriented role that requires strong organization, follow-through, communication, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines while maintaining accurate case documentation. Charlotte, NC Positions Hours:
Monday - Friday, 8:00AM to 5:00PM, with an hour for lunch What You'll Do Manage subrogation and lien-related tasks throughout the life of a personal injury case Set up health insurance claims and coordinate claim information with insurance carriers and health plans Communicate with health insurance companies, medical providers, lienholders, and other third parties to obtain and verify lien information Request, review, and track lien and balance documentation Maintain accurate and organized case records and documentation Follow up consistently on outstanding requests and documentation Identify issues that may affect case resolution and communicate them appropriately Assist with negotiating and resolving subrogation claims and liens Work closely with attorneys, case managers, and other departments to keep cases moving toward resolution Meet department deadlines and follow established processes and procedures Take ownership of assigned cases and tasks from start to finish Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail while handling confidential client information What We're Looking For Strong organizational and time-management skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage multiple cases, deadlines, and competing priorities Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate documentation Ability to work independently while also contributing to a team Strong problem-solving and follow-up skills Ability to learn and follow detailed processes and procedures Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment Professional, dependable, and proactive approach to work Experience in a law firm, personal injury, insurance, medical billing, or subrogation environment is preferred Legal support or case management experience is preferred Bachelor's degree preferred Why Join Shane Smith Law?
