Job Description

Labor & Employment Law Attorney Position Overview:
A growing law firm is seeking a talented attorney with 3+ years of experience in labor and employment law to join our dynamic and growing team. This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of employment-related matters, including litigation and advisory work for businesses across various industries. The ideal candidate is a proactive, detail-oriented professional with strong analytical skills and a passion for advocating on behalf of employers.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide expert legal counsel on Employment Law matters including, wage and hour, PAGA, workplace disputes, wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, etc. Manage cases from inception through resolution, including pre-litigation strategy, discovery, motions, and trial preparation. Represent clients in state and federal courts, arbitration, mediation, and other dispute resolution forums. Advise clients on risk management and compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws. Negotiate settlements and work to resolve disputes in a cost-effective and timely manner. Draft and review legal documents such as pleadings, motions, settlement agreements, and other correspondence. Develop strategies to prevent legal issues and minimize exposure for clients through proactive counsel. Stay up to date with changes in employment law to provide clients with current and effective legal advice.
Qualifications :
Licensed to practice law in North Carolina and in good standing with the State Bar 3+ years of labor and employment law experience, including litigation and advisory work Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills Experience with wage and hour claims, discrimination cases, and employment contracts Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines efficiently Excellent communication and client advocacy skills Experience representing clients before state and federal employment agencies is a plus Trial experience is a plus but not required Must have strong writing and research skills Candidate must have excellent academic credentials
