This is a busy, four-attorney office with a variety of responsibilities, including felony, misdemeanor, infraction, and juvenile petition prosecution; representing the State's interest in mental health proceedings; performing coroner duties; representing the County in Tax Equalization and Review Cases; representing the County Board of Commissioners; advising law enforcement and county officials on legal issues; and other duties as defined by Nebraska statutes. Duties include covering assigned on-call periods to answer after-hours legal questions from law enforcement and handle coroner matters. Salary is negotiable and based on qualifications and experience. Excellent benefit package included. Applicants must be licensed to practice law in Nebraska, or eligible to apply for admission on motion if already licensed in another state or by Uniform Bar Exam score transfer. Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school with active licensure to practice law in the jurisdiction; Demonstrated proficiency in legal research platforms like Westlaw and LexisNexis for case analysis and legal writing; Strong writing skills for drafting legal documents, memos, and reports with clarity and precision; Legal administrative experience including managing case files and maintaining organized records; Ability to analyze complex legal issues quickly while working under tight deadlines.
