About CorMedix Princeton Legal Search Group has been retained on an exclusive basis by a dynamic, publicly traded biopharmaceutical company in New Jersey, CorMedix Inc. (
Nasdaq:
CRMD), to lead the search for a Counsel / Senior Counsel to work in its Parsippany, NJ headquarters. The company is focused on developing and commercializing innovative products that help prevent life-threatening infections and improve outcomes for patients with chronic kidney disease and other serious conditions. CorMedix recently acquired Melinta Therapeutics LLC, which significantly expanded its product portfolio. CorMedix also recently received an Innovative Technology designation for DefenCath®, its lead product designed to reduce catheter-related bloodstream infections in hemodialysis patients. About the Role Reporting to the VP, Assistant General Counsel, the Counsel / Senior Counsel will serve as a key legal advisor with respect to the company's contracting activities, with primary responsibility for drafting, negotiating, and advising on a high volume of a variety of commercial agreements. This is an opportunity to play a key role in a high-growth environment and partner cross functionally within the company. Key Responsibilities Draft, negotiate, and manage a broad range and high volume of commercial agreements, including manufacturing & supply (GMP), vendor and services agreements (MSAs/SOWs), supply chain/logistics, real estate, distribution, specialty pharmacy, quality and pharmacovigilance agreements and in- and out-licensing. Serve as a legal partner to business stakeholders throughout the contracting lifecycle, identifying legal and commercial risks, proposing workable solutions and escalating material issues to the VP, Assistant General Counsel when appropriate. Manage the company's contracting process and provide functional direction to paraprofessionals, including setting priorities, allocating work and reviewing work product. Own and improve contract lifecycle management processes, including contract intake, templates, playbooks, approval workflows, execution procedures, repository practices and reporting metrics. Develop and maintain standard contract templates, fallback positions and guidance that promote consistency, compliance and efficient negotiations. Collaborate with manufacturing and supply, clinical, quality, regulatory, compliance, finance, information technology and other stakeholders on cross-functional matters. Provide training and practical guidance to business teams regarding contracting requirements and legal risk. Support additional legal department priorities based on business needs and the attorney's experience, which may include advertising and promotional review, clinical operations, labeling, privacy or AI governance. Qualifications Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school with a strong academic record. Admitted to practice law in New Jersey or the ability to register as in-house counsel in NJ. Minimum of 5 years of legal experience, including at least 3 years at a top law firm and 2+ years of in-house experience within a branded pharmaceutical or biotechnology environment. Proven success in drafting and negotiating a broad range of complex commercial agreements. Deep understanding of the life sciences industry. Experience with advertising and promotional review is welcomed. R D, clinical, and/or labeling experience is preferred. Experience with AI governance is a plus. Excellent business judgment, communication, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment. Compensation The Counsel or Senior Counsel designation will be determined based on the candidate's level of experience.
Base Salary:
$225-$250K Bonus eligible The final salary will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's qualifications, training, skills, competencies, and experience.
