Position:

Our client, a reputable civil defense litigation firm based in Amherst NY, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Associate Attorney with 3 to 5 years of relevant experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil litigation defense, excellent legal research and writing skills, and the ability to handle cases independently while working collaboratively within a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage a caseload of civil defense litigation matters from inception to resolution.

Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and legal memoranda.

Conduct depositions, court appearances, mediations, and trials.

Perform legal research and provide strategic legal analysis.

Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.

Collaborate with senior attorneys and support staff to ensure high-quality case management.

Qualifications:

J.D. from an accredited law school and licensed to practice law in New York State.3-5 years of experience in civil defense litigation.

Strong understanding of New York State and Federal civil procedure.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Proven ability to handle a litigation caseload independently.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Experience:

Experience in areas such as general liability, professional liability, construction litigation, or insurance defense.

Familiarity with case management software and e-discovery platforms.
