The successful candidate will possess extensive knowledge in estate planning, trust management, elder law, and associated tax regulations. This in-office position provides a unique chance to collaborate with a dedicated team, form lasting client connections, and influence strategic estate planning and administration.
Responsibilities include:
  • Providing strategic guidance to clients on estate planning matters, including drafting wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and advance directives.
  • Advising on wealth distribution strategies, tax-efficient charitable contributions, and financial planning.
  • Handling the administration of trusts and estates, from probate procedures to Surrogate's Court submissions, and engaging in litigation as needed.
  • Creating and interpreting intricate estate planning documents and trust agreements.
  • Cooperating with financial advisors, accountants, and other experts to finalize estate plans.
  • Managing guardianship issues and elder law matters, such as Medicaid planning.
  • Cultivating and sustaining client relationships with a focus on exceptional service.
Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited institution.
  • Licensed to practice law within New York State or eligibility for admission.
  • Minimum of three years of practice in trust and estate planning.
  • Extensive understanding of estate, gift, and fiduciary income taxation.
  • Proficient drafting, analysis, and communication capabilities.
  • Competence in handling multiple projects and adhering to tight deadlines.
  • Superior interpersonal skills coupled with a strong client-oriented approach.
