Job Description

Litigation Supervisor, Family Defense Nonprofit Legal Defense Organization New York City Area -
Hybrid Salary Range:
$111,500 to $135,000 per year, based on experience Terrific Litigation Supervisor position with a nonprofit legal defense organization in New York City . The Litigation Supervisor will work within the organization's Family Defense Practice in Staten Island providing management to family defense cases, particularly Article 10 cases. The position will be part of a highly collaborative interdisciplinary team and will directly supervise 4-5 staff attorneys.
Responsibilities:
Work with interdisciplinary teams to represent clients in family court proceedings Participate in Article 10 termination of parental rights proceedings and other related proceedings Manage a caseload of relevant cases Assist staff attorneys in developing their litigation skills Work with leadership on strategic planning, program development, and improvements for the organization Coordinate case practice and workgroup meetings Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to address any operational issues Manage and mentor a team of 4-5 staff attorneys
Qualifications:
Approximately 4-6+ years of relevant experience in relevant in family court proceedings involving Article 10 termination of parental rights Experience supervising and mentoring legal staff JD required Experience with ancillary proceedings Strong teamwork and communications skills Critical thinker with excellent problem solving skills Experience with training, program development or organizational development a plus Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team Commitment to DEI work and the organization's mission Equal opportunity employer.
