We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Construction Attorney to join our legal team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide expert legal counsel on a wide range of commercial construction-related matters, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations while supporting project success. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in construction law including contract drafting, payment disputes, mechanic's liens, delay claims, payment and performance bonds, Article 3-A trust disputes and Article 78 proceedings, with the ability to manage complex legal issues efficiently and proactively, managing legal risks, and advocating for firm's interests across various construction initiatives. Duties Provide comprehensive legal advice on all aspects of construction projects to ensure favorable terms and risk mitigation. Conduct legal research on relevant statutes, regulations, and case law pertaining to construction law, environmental law, land use regulations, and other applicable areas. Draft and review legal documents such as contracts, amendments, notices of claim, and dispute resolution agreements. Represent the organization in negotiations with contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and regulatory agencies to resolve disputes amicably and efficiently. Assist in compliance efforts related to environmental law, tribal law & regulations, occupational safety standards (including workers' compensation law), and other statutory requirements affecting construction activities. Support project teams by providing guidance on procedural law knowledge and best practices for legal case management throughout all phases of construction projects. Skills Admission to practice in NYS and federal courts. 3-5 years commercial construction law experience. Ability to report to the office f/t in Mineola, NY. Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record of successful dispute resolution. Proficiency in legal research tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw for statutory and case law analysis. Exceptional legal writing skills for motion preparation, contract drafting, legal advocacy documents, and procedural filings. Ability to handle court depositions effectively while managing multiple cases simultaneously. Experience with legal case management systems and administrative procedures within a busy law office environment. Excellent client communication skills to clearly explain complex legal issues to non-lawyers.

Pay:

Up to $195,000.00 per year
