The Bachman Law Firm PLLC is looking for an experienced attorney to join our growing business law practice on a part-time basis. This could be an especially good fit for an attorney returning to practice after time away, someone who has scaled back for family or other commitments, or an experienced lawyer who simply wants sophisticated work without the traditional law firm hours and commute. We are a small Rockland County firm helping businesses and their owners through growth, challenges and change. Our practice includes both transactional matters and commercial litigation. What You'll Do

• Work with business owners to understand their objectives and solve problems practically
• Draft and negotiate commercial contracts
• Handle corporate transactions, governance, formations and business purchases and sales
• Handle commercial litigation, including pleadings, motions, discovery and case strategy
• Work on commercial real estate transactions and leases Who We're Looking For
• Approximately 5+ years of meaningful legal experience, including experience with both business transactions and commercial disputes
• Admission to the New York Bar; New Jersey admission is a plus
• Practical judgment and the ability to take ownership of matters
• Someone who enjoys working with clients and being part of a small, collegial team
• A traditional career path is not required. We welcome attorneys returning to practice after time away or after working on a reduced schedule.
• A love of eating lunch (sushi, Italian and more) preferred, but not required No book of business is required.

If you enjoy networking or business development, there will be opportunities to do that, but bringing clients is not a condition of the position. Schedule & Compensation This is a genuinely part-time position, approximately 20-30 hours per week, with flexibility in how those hours are structured. The position will involve regular time in our Rockland County office.

Compensation:

$50-$60 per hour, depending on experience. Additional compensation/credit available for business originated by the attorney.
