Job Description
Our client, a respected law firm in Syracuse, NY, is looking for an accomplished attorney to support a growing legal practice focused on trusts, estates, and elder law in Syracuse, New York. This role offers the opportunity to advise individuals and families on estate planning strategies, guide fiduciaries through administration matters, and represent clients in probate-related proceedings. The ideal candidate brings strong judgment, client-centered communication, and substantial experience managing sophisticated matters in these practice areas.
Responsibilities:
- Advise clients on estate planning solutions, including the preparation of wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and related advance planning documents.
- Oversee the administration of estates and trusts, ensuring filings, distributions, and fiduciary responsibilities are handled accurately and efficiently.
- Represent clients in probate and surrogate's court proceedings connected to contested and uncontested estate matters.
- Counsel individuals and families on elder law issues such as long-term care planning, asset protection, and incapacity-related concerns.
- Review client circumstances and develop tailored legal strategies that align with personal, financial, and family objectives.
- Maintain consistent communication with clients, beneficiaries, fiduciaries, and other interested parties throughout the life of each matter.
- Conduct legal research, draft correspondence and pleadings, and manage case documentation in compliance with applicable laws and court requirements.
