This leadership role also oversees Human Resources, Compliance, and Medical Records while helping shape policies and initiatives that support the organization's mission and future growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Reports to and collaborates with the Chief Executive Officer over all matters involving the agency. Provides accurate and timely counsel to executives on a variety of legal topics, such as HIPAA, employment and compliance. Manages and oversees the Human Resource, Medical Records and Compliance Divisions. Draft policies and procedures to compliance with Agency's accreditation bodies and regulatory laws and continuously monitor for compliance. Research key legal issues and keeps abreast of legislative changes Ensures communication with stakeholders, including proactive approaches to legal matters. Applies effective risk management techniques and offers proactive advice on possible legal issues. Conducts and participates in investigations. Drafts and solidifies agreements, contracts and other legal documents to ensure the Agency's full legal rights, and contract management. Collaborates and shares responsibility with the implementation of systems related to legal matters, governance, employee benefit programs, insurance of general assets and professional liability, quality assurance, service evaluations and general administration. Participates in meetings which contribute to the effective and efficient operations of the organization and its continued growth, including the Agency's Strategic Planning. Leads activities within the organization, including but not limited to committee meetings, staff meetings, and training. Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

Minimum of a Juris Doctor degree

Experience:

General knowledge of working in a business environment, preferred experience working in healthcare, employment or compliance industry. Preferred 3 years as licensed attorney.

Certification:

Licensed Ohio Attorney in both state and federal bar with an active good standing with the Ohio Supreme Court.

Other:

Microsoft Office, HRIS systems; extensive data entry and recordkeeping.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

Knowledge:

Understanding employment law, encompassing federal and state regulations. Proficiency in general HR practices including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee relations, benefits administration, and compliance. Contract Management Proficiency in Health Care law including HIPAA and compliance issues Knowledge of compensation and benefits structures. Awareness of organizational policies and procedures. Knowledge of the English language, including its structure and content. Customer service principles and practices.

Skills:

Effective communication skills, including active listening, speaking, reading comprehension, writing, instructing, and social/cultural perceptiveness. Strong problem-solving abilities.
