Litigation Attorney - Insurance Defense| Toledo, OH | Full-TimeAbout UsWe are an established Ohio law firm with offices in the Toledo and Columbus areas and a long-standing reputation for providing thoughtful, effective legal representation to insurance carriers, businesses, and their insureds. Our practice is centered around litigation and includes insurance defense and coverage, civil and commercial litigation, construction matters, and other complex legal disputes.
Our attorneys are actively involved in litigation from case development through resolution and trial, working closely with clients to develop practical legal strategies and achieve strong outcomes. The firm offers an opportunity to join an experienced team in a collaborative, professional environment with significant exposure to substantive litigation work.
About the PositionWe are seeking a Litigation Attorney - Insurance Defense to join our Toledo office. This position is designed for an attorney with minimum 3+ years of experience in insurance defense and/or civil litigation who is looking to take on meaningful responsibility within an established litigation practice.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing litigation matters, communicating directly with clients and opposing counsel, and handling the day-to-day responsibilities associated with active cases. While insurance defense experience is strongly relevant, candidates with a solid civil litigation background will also be considered.
Key ResponsibilitiesManage and develop litigation matters from case intake through resolutionConduct legal research, prepare pleadings, motions, discovery, and other litigation documentsParticipate in depositions, hearings, mediations, settlement discussions, and trial preparationCommunicate with clients, claims professionals, opposing counsel, courts, and other partiesDevelop case strategy and provide practical legal guidance throughout the litigation processManage multiple matters while maintaining strong organization, attention to detail, and deadlinesQualifications3+ years of experience in insurance defense and/or civil litigationActive license to practice law in the State of OhioStrong legal research, writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skillsExperience handling litigation matters with increasing levels of responsibilityAbility to manage multiple cases, deadlines, and priorities effectivelyStrong professional judgment, communication skills, and attention to detailComfortable working in a primarily on-site law firm environmentWhat We Offer$95,000-$105,000 base salary (DOE)Performance-based bonuses401(k)Health insuranceDental insuranceVision insuranceHealth Savings Account (HSA)Paid Time Off (PTO)Full-time, on-site position in Toledo, OhioWhy Join Us?
