Associate Attorney Portland, Maine Full-Time |
Direct Hire Salary Range:
$105-130K+ depending on experience Are you an experienced litigation attorney looking to build your career in Employment Law? Our client, a well-established regional law firm, is seeking an Employment Law Associate to advise employers and handle a diverse range of litigation and counseling matters. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney who wants meaningful client interaction, hands-on experience, and exposure to sophisticated employment matters within a collaborative and supportive practice!
Responsibilities:
Advise and counsel employers on a broad range of employment law matters, compliance issues, and workplace practices Represent employers in litigation before state and federal courts and administrative agencies Handle matters involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, restrictive covenants, trade secrets, and other employment-related disputes Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, legal memoranda, correspondence, and other case-related documents Conduct legal research and develop practical, solutions-oriented strategies Participate in all stages of litigation, including discovery, depositions, hearings, and trial preparation Communicate directly with clients and collaborate with attorneys and legal professionals across matters Stay current on evolving employment laws, regulations, and workplace trends
Qualifications:
J.D. from an accredited law school Active bar admission, or anticipated admission within 6-12 months, in Maine, New Hampshire, or Massachusetts 2-5+ years of litigation experience; employment law experience preferred Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and advocacy skills Experience drafting pleadings, motions, discovery, and legal memoranda Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work directly with clients Strong organization and ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines Employer-side employment or labor experience preferred Public-sector employment/labor experience is a plus Interested candidates are encouraged to submit a Word document resume to Natalie at: Nsykes@naglergroup.com for immediate consideration!
