We are looking for an experienced Family Law Attorney to join a respected boutique firm in West Chester, Pennsylvania. This permanent, onsite role is ideal for a lawyer who brings sound judgment, strong courtroom ability, and a thoughtful approach to guiding clients through sensitive domestic matters. The position offers the opportunity to work closely with a collaborative legal team while handling sophisticated family law cases with a strong emphasis on divorce-related disputes.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a portfolio of family law matters involving divorce, custody disputes, support issues, alimony, and division of marital assets.
- Prepare, revise, and negotiate key domestic relations documents, including marital agreements, parenting arrangements, and settlement terms.
- Advocate for clients throughout contested proceedings by appearing at hearings, managing motion practice, conducting depositions, participating in mediation, and trying cases when needed.
- Research applicable statutes, case law, and procedural rules to support legal strategy and produce well-developed pleadings, briefs, and motions.
- Counsel clients with clarity and professionalism, translating complex legal issues into practical guidance tailored to their circumstances.
- Monitor changes in Pennsylvania family law and local court expectations to keep matters aligned with current legal standards and procedures.
- Coordinate effectively with attorneys, paralegals, and outside professionals such as financial experts or evaluators to support case preparation and resolution.
- Oversee case progress, filings, deadlines, and documentation through legal practice management tools to ensure matters move forward efficiently.
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
- Active Pennsylvania law license in good standing.
- At least 5 years of experience practicing family law, including substantial exposure to divorce litigation.
- Demonstrated ability to manage cases through multiple phases of litigation with strong attention to procedural requirements.
- Proficiency in drafting motions, pleadings, briefs, discovery materials, and other family law documentation.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including effective negotiation and courtroom advocacy.
- Sound interpersonal judgment, emotional intelligence, and a client-focused approach when handling sensitive legal matters.
- Ability to work onsite in West Chester, Pennsylvania within a team-oriented boutique firm setting.
