Associate Attorney - Litigation, Criminal Defense & Family Law Clemente Law, a growing Northeastern Pennsylvania litigation firm with offices in Scranton and Wilkes-Barre, seeks an associate attorney to join its practice. This position offers a newer attorney significant courtroom experience, direct client responsibility, close mentorship, and the opportunity to develop a practice of their own. The associate will initially focus primarily on state criminal matters, including preliminary hearings, pretrial proceedings, motions, pleas, sentencing, and trials. Working directly with experienced criminal defense attorneys, the associate will assume meaningful responsibility for cases early in their career. We are also particularly interested in candidates with experience or an interest in developing a family-law practice, including custody, divorce, support, and PFA matters. Candidates interested in another complementary practice area, including immigration, are encouraged to apply. This is not a position in which an associate will spend years performing only research or document review. The successful candidate will appear in court, communicate directly with clients, develop case strategy, draft and litigate motions, and progressively assume responsibility for their own matters. Qualifications Applicants must be admitted, or eligible for imminent admission, to the Pennsylvania Bar. Prior experience in criminal defense, prosecution, family law, judicial clerkships, legal services, or litigation is preferred but not required. Strong writing ability, sound judgment, reliability, interpersonal skills, and a genuine desire to develop as a courtroom attorney are more important than a particular number of years in practice.

Compensation Expected base salary:

$70,000-$90,000 , depending on experience. The position also includes performance-based compensation designed to reward productivity, business generation, and the development of new practice areas.
