The Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney will be responsible for all aspects of prosecuting felony cases in a fast paced and exciting litigation environment. Salary The starting salary is $48,451 with benefits for entry level prosecutors. For experienced attorneys, salary is commensurate with time working with PAC/DPA/Jefferson Metro/KYOAG/Federal Criminal Justice/AOC, based on the Commonwealth's Attorneys Salary Classifications and Compensation Plan. Minimum Requirements Juris Doctor degree and at least 4 years of experience in the practice of criminal law. Must be admitted to practice law and in good standing in the Commonwealth of KY or comply with

SCR 2.111

Limited certification of admission to practice. Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this classification. Experience and demonstrated skill in the practice of criminal law. Effective written and oral advocacy, including bench and jury trials. Must be able to handle high volumes of cases and be able to multi-task. Applicants must possess and maintain a valid driver's license issued by the State of Kentucky and must have a satisfactory driver's record. Must successfully pass a background check related to this position prior to any offer of employment or promotion. Additional Requirements Ability to communicate and collaborate with a variety of individuals in different agencies. Demonstrated ability to conduct effective meetings and trainings. Ability to multi-task and learn new subject matter quickly and thoroughly. Commitment to collaboration, agency growth and the highest ethical standards. Requires continuing legal education in subjects affecting the work assigned to the incumbent. Considerable knowledge of the criminal process from investigations through trial and appeal. Understanding of criminal law and the quality of evidence necessary for proof beyond a reasonable doubt. Familiarity with criminal procedure and Constitutional law. Understanding of the ethical requirements imposed on both police and prosecution.
