A Day In The Life Of An Associate Attorney:
As a civil litigation Associate Attorney at Morrison Mahoney LLP, your role will be both dynamic and rewarding. You will independently manage your own caseload from inception to conclusion, drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery requests while meticulously adhering to deadlines. Your day will include preparing for and attending depositions, hearings, and trials, providing you with invaluable courtroom experience. Collaboration is essential; you'll engage closely with clients, experts, and fellow attorneys to devise effective litigation strategies. Regular communication will keep clients informed with status updates and written reports, all while conducting comprehensive legal research and writing memoranda to bolster case strategies. Working alongside seasoned partners and senior attorneys, you'll ensure smooth case management, enhancing your professional skills in a collaborative, inclusive, and supportive environment. What Matters Most To excel as an Associate Attorney in civil litigation at Morrison Mahoney LLP in Hartford, CT, a robust skillset and qualifications are essential. You must hold a Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school and be admitted to the Connecticut State Bar or have an adequate UBE score for admission to the jurisdiction. You should have 3 to 8 years of litigation experience preferably in insurance defense or closely related practice area. Clerkship experience is considered a valuable asset. Proficiency in drafting and arguing dispositive motions is vital, coupled with strong capabilities in performing thorough legal research and responding effectively to discovery requests. As you assist in mediations, arbitrations, trials, and hearings, strong advocacy skills will be crucial.
