Overview
FULL TIME REMOTE POSITION
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Associate Attorney to join our legal team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work across a diverse range of legal practice areas, including Service-member Civil Relief Act and Longshore Harbor Workers Compensation as extended through the Defense Base Act. We assist contractors that support U.S. Forces overseas when they get injured. The position is mostly remote with occasional in person appearances. There is opportunity for occasional paid travel for depositions out of state as you progress in your career path with our firm. There is opportunity for growth in pay, commensurate with increased duties and responsibilities. Key Responsibilities Conduct legal research and analyze statutes, regulations, case law, and administrative authorities. Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, memoranda, correspondence, discovery requests and responses, and other legal documents. Review, organize, and respond to written discovery; assist with document collection, production, and case-file management. Prepare for and conduct depositions, including witness preparation and deposition outline development. Assist with hearings, mediations, administrative proceedings, trials, and other litigation-related matters. Communicate directly with clients regarding case status, information gathering, strategy support, and next steps. Work with supervising attorneys to develop case strategy and evaluate factual and legal issues. Manage assigned matters and deadlines, maintain accurate time and case records, and ensure prompt follow-up on client and case needs. Travel as needed for depositions, hearings, client meetings, court appearances, and other business-related matters. Perform other legal and professional responsibilities consistent with a junior associate role. Qualifications Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school. 0-2 years of legal experience ; relevant experience in workers' compensation, administrative law, civil litigation, or employment and labor law is preferred but not required. Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction in good standing. Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and oral-advocacy skills. Ability to manage multiple assignments, meet deadlines, and work independently in a remote environment. Strong interpersonal skills and a professional, client-service-oriented approach. Willingness and ability to travel as required for the position.
Compensation and Benefits Salary:
$65,000-$75,000 per year.
