Job Description

Associate Attorney (Litigation) Overview A woman-owned boutique litigation firm based in the Hudson Valley is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Associate Attorney to join our growing team. This position is ideal for an attorney with strong time-management skills and a solid foundation in legal research and writing who is looking for meaningful responsibility and flexibility. Our practice focuses on the defense of medical facilities, healthcare professionals, and nursing homes. Prior experience in medical malpractice defense is preferred but not required. This role offers the opportunity to work remotely, with an expectation of attending scheduled court appearances and depositions, primarily in Dutchess, Orange, and Westchester counties. Compensation is commensurate with experience and whether the position is part-time or full-time. Responsibilities Review, analyze, and summarize medical records Attend court conferences and proceedings Conduct and defend depositions Prepare reports for clients and insurance carriers, including summaries of pleadings, deposition testimony, and medical records Manage all aspects of discovery, including drafting demands and responses Draft motions, expert affirmations, and memoranda of law Track case status and activities to ensure compliance with court orders and insurance carrier guidelines Assist in trial preparation as needed Qualifications and Skills Admission to the New York State Bar (required) Strong legal research and writing skills Ability to manage multiple matters and meet deadlines Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated Comfortable working independently in a remote environment
Pay:
$65,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
