Job Description
Healthcare Attorney We are a boutique healthcare law firm with a client-centered ethos and a friendly, entrepreneurial work environment. Our work is regulatory and transactional healthcare business law; we do not litigate. We represent small and mid-sized healthcare practices. We do not handle medical malpractice matters or represent large payors or hospitals. We seek a full-time attorney for our Dallas-Fort Worth office. The attorney must be actively licensed in Texas. This position supports the firm's Texas clients and matters. The ideal candidate is attracted to our entrepreneurial culture and has a deep commitment to excellence in their work. They understand and appreciate the role of healthcare in their communities and are committed to serving independent practitioners. They have a genuine and enthusiastic interest in healthcare law. They are a strong, clear writer who produces polished, client-ready work product, works hard, and is easy to get along with. Crucially, they must have exceptional attention to detail. You will be expected to work regular business hours. Responsibilities Provide legal support to clients, including medical professionals, small- to mid-sized healthcare practices, and management services organizations, on licensure, scope of practice, regulatory compliance, and day-to-day business issues Support new practice formation, including entity formation, intake documentation, and related startup matters Draft and review employment contracts, independent contractor agreements, physician collaborative agreements, management services agreements, and other such documents in compliance with all applicable healthcare laws Prepare clients' HIPAA policies and procedures and advise clients on HIPAA compliance Advise clients on questions regarding the Anti-Kickback Statute, False Claims Act, Stark Law, and related or state equivalent laws About the Attorney Role Base salary of $90,000, with an increase to $100,000 following a 3-month initial review period based on hours met and quality of work product Health insurance and paid time off Primarily remote, with occasional in-office time at our Dallas-Fort Worth office as needed — must reside within commuting distance Perfect for someone seeking to enjoy practicing law, working directly with clients, and maintaining a life outside of work Professional Requirements Licensed attorney in Texas 2+ years of post-bar experience Residing within commuting distance of the Dallas-Fort Worth area Professional or educational experience in the preparation and negotiation of contracts Professional or educational experience in regulatory and transactional work (not litigation) Healthcare or business law experience preferred but not required Excellent legal writing skills and strong, polished work product Hard-working with a strong work ethic Extremely detail-oriented and able to deliver accurate, client-ready work on deadline Interpersonal Able to communicate challenging topics clearly to both clients and colleagues Easygoing and collaborative — someone who works well with others in a warm, mutually supportive environment We are committed to maintaining a warm, mutually supportive work environment.
