Job Description
Robert Half Legal is partnering with an innovative biotechnology startup to identify a Part-Time Contract Attorney to serve as the organization's primary internal legal resource. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with life sciences industry experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced startup environment and providing practical legal guidance across commercial contracting, regulatory compliance, intellectual property coordination, and corporate compliance matters.
Confidential Disclosure Agreements (CDAs)Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs)Statements of Work (SOWs)Consulting AgreementsVendor AgreementsMaster Service Agreements (MSAs)Support contracting activities with Contract Research Organizations (CROs), university research laboratories, consultants, and commercial vendors.
Ensure contractual obligations align with operational, regulatory, and business objectives. Medical, Legal & Regulatory Review (MLR)Establish and manage internal Medical Legal Review (MLR) processes.
Review promotional materials, scientific publications, presentations, marketing content, and medical communications.
Ensure compliance with applicable FDA regulations, healthcare industry standards, and intellectual property considerations. Regulatory & Compliance SupportAssist with U.S. regulatory compliance initiatives, including support for FDA and Good Clinical Practice (GCP)-related workflows.
Review internal policies, employee handbooks, and compliance documentation.
Support commercial and operational teams in maintaining adherence to applicable healthcare regulations.
Monitor vendor deliverables and contractual milestones for regulatory alignment. Intellectual Property CoordinationServe as a liaison between internal stakeholders and outside patent/IP counsel.
Coordinate patent management activities and support intellectual property strategy implementation.
Ensure IP protections are appropriately incorporated into:
Statements of WorkMaterial Transfer Agreements (MTAs)Research-related agreementsVendor and consulting contracts Corporate & Transactional Legal SupportProvide day-to-day legal guidance on routine business matters.
Support contract negotiations and legal operations within a growing biotechnology environment.
Assist with foundational corporate governance and transactional matters as needed.
