Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Attorney/Lawyer to join our client's litigation practice in Oakland, California in a contract-to-permanent capacity. This opportunity is well suited for a motivated attorney who can handle a range of civil litigation matters, build greater ownership of files over time, and contribute to a collaborative legal team. The firm values sound judgment, strong written advocacy, and a practical approach to managing both established and evolving areas of practice.

This client is open to seeing candidates at all levels, including entry-level attorneys and senior attorneys.
Responsibilities:
Represent clients in litigation matters involving employment disputes, wage and hour claims, liability matters requiring close attention to detail, medical malpractice, and related civil matters.

Prepare substantive legal documents such as motions, memoranda, demand letters, briefs, and other written advocacy materials with close attention to detail and legal strategy.

Manage discovery, analyze case developments, and assist in building litigation strategy from early case assessment through resolution.

Take increasing responsibility for assigned matters, with the goal of handling cases more independently as experience and familiarity with the practice grow.

Collaborate with attorneys and firm leadership on case planning, reporting, and overall client service while maintaining high standards of accuracy and care.

Participate in a hybrid work schedule that includes regular in-office attendance in Oakland, California during the contract period and as required thereafter.

Contribute to the broader practice by staying current on legal developments, sharing insights with colleagues, and supporting a team-oriented environment.
