Job Description

Sheppard is seeking a non-partnership-track, staff attorney with 10+ years of bankruptcy and litigation experience. We are excited to offer a unique opportunity within our Bankruptcy Litigation practice in the Orange County office for a full or part-time Bankruptcy Litigation Attorney. This role is tailored for experienced attorneys seeking to balance a fulfilling career with personal commitments, offering a flexible, reduced-hours work schedule. In line with our modern approach to work, we are open to this position being primarily remote, with the preference that the candidate resides in California to facilitate timely collaboration as needed. As a global Am Law 50 full-service law firm, Sheppard boasts over 1,200 attorneys across 16 offices worldwide, with the Orange County office alone housing over 100 attorneys. Our practice areas are diverse, encompassing Business Litigation, Corporate Transactions, Finance & Bankruptcy, Real Estate, Entertainment, Intellectual Property, and more.

Remote Working Option:
Ideal for seasoned attorneys (10+ years of experience) in general civil litigation or creditors' rights/bankruptcy litigation, looking to transition from a demanding practice to a more flexible schedule. This non-partner track position offers the chance to engage in challenging work without the full-time pressures, and the flexibility to work remotely.
Autonomy:
Candidates will have the opportunity to work independently, managing projects and tasks with minimal supervision. This role is perfect for those who value professional autonomy while still being part of a supportive and collaborative team.
Expertise Areas:
The successful candidate will have substantial experience in: Bankruptcy Litigation, including creditors' rights matters. Representation of lending institutions, equity groups, financial services corporations, equipment lessors, landlords, and real estate developers. Familiarity with both conventional and non-conventional finance relationships. ​
