Job Description

Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP, a leading national firm, seeks an attorney to join its Government practice in its Rockford, IL office. This is an exciting opportunity for someone interested in career growth. Our firm is dedicated to your professional development, providing comprehensive training, mentorship, and support to help you succeed and advance within the firm. You will be entrusted with a diverse and challenging caseload, taking on significant responsibilities from the start.
Key Responsibilities:
Handle all aspects of commercial litigation, including case strategy, discovery, motion practice, depositions, and trial preparation. Draft and argue motions, pleadings, and legal briefs. Conduct legal research and analysis on complex commercial disputes. Represent clients in court hearings, mediations, and arbitrations. Advise clients on risk assessment and litigation strategies. Collaborate with colleagues on land use and environmental matters when applicable.
Position Requirements:
Must be admitted to the Illinois bar and in good standing The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial litigation, with additional experience in land use and environmental law considered a plus. Strong legal writing, research, and oral advocacy skills Experience with land use and environmental law is a plus. Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Estimated $125,000 to $160,000. The estimated salary range displayed is specifically for those applicants who will perform work in Illinois if selected for the role and is not applicable to other locations.
