Job Description

15-Attorney Construction Litigation Law Firm in Fort Lauderdale is looking for a Florida-licensed attorney with 5+ years of experience with Construction Litigation in FL. This is a 100% REMOTE position as long as you live in Florida! Our firm has experienced significant and aggressive growth over the past few years, and we are seeking a client-service-oriented, full-time construction litigation associate attorney experienced in handling disputes between contractors and owners to join our team.
Responsibilities:
Manage a caseload of construction litigation matters from pre-suit through trial. Represent owners, developers, general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, architects, and engineers in construction disputes. Handle claims involving construction defects, contract disputes, payment disputes, lien foreclosures, bond claims, delay claims, and warranty issues. Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, and other litigation-related documents. Conduct legal research and prepare persuasive legal memoranda. Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts. Attend hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and court proceedings. Develop litigation strategies and provide practical legal advice to clients. Work closely with experts, consultants, and clients throughout all phases of litigation. Negotiate settlements when appropriate while aggressively advocating for clients' interests. Prepare cases for trial and actively participate in trial proceedings.
Qualifications:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school. Active membership in good standing with The Florida Bar. Minimum of five (5) years of construction litigation experience in Florida. Strong knowledge of Florida construction law, construction contracts, mechanic's liens, payment and performance bonds, and construction defect litigation. Experience handling complex commercial litigation matters. Ability to independently manage a litigation caseload with minimal supervision. Trial and arbitration experience is highly preferred.
