The Opportunity I'm working with a nationally recognized defense litigation firm that is continuing to grow its Garden City office and is looking for an experienced Defense Attorney to join the team. This is a firm with a strong national presence, but the culture is still very much built around collaboration, accessibility and people actually working together. You'll be trusted with real responsibility from the outset, handling a varied caseload of personal injury defense matters while having the resources and support of a larger firm behind you. And importantly, the role offers a hybrid working arrangement , giving you some genuine flexibility around how you structure your week. What Will You Actually Be Doing? You'll take ownership of your cases from the early investigation stages through to resolution, rather than only being handed one small piece of the litigation process. That means working directly with clients, witnesses, medical professionals and your internal support team to understand each case and develop the right strategy.

Your work will include:

Managing personal injury defense matters from investigation through resolution Handling depositions, 50-h hearings and court appearances Reviewing medical records and assessing causation Managing discovery and CPLR compliance Working closely with clients and witnesses throughout investigations Leading settlement discussions, mediations and other ADR proceedings Developing case strategies focused on achieving practical, efficient outcomes It's a position with real autonomy and client exposure , but you're joining a team where support is there when you need it. Who Are They Looking For? You'll need to be admitted to the New York Bar and have at least 3 years of experience defending personal injury matters in the New York Supreme Courts . They're particularly interested in attorneys with experience involving: New York Labor Law Premises liability matters Depositions and hearings Discovery and case management Settlement negotiations and ADR Strong writing and analytical skills are important, but so is being someone who can look at a case, identify what actually matters and move it toward resolution. Experience with legal project management would be an advantage, but isn't essential. Why Consider It? Because the right move should improve more than your salary.
