An Opportunity for an Established Attorney This position may be particularly attractive to an experienced solo practitioner or established family law attorney who enjoys managing cases independently but would benefit from the resources, infrastructure, and professional support of a recognized firm. At Hinds & Hinds, attorneys can focus on practicing law while the firm supports many of the administrative responsibilities that often consume a solo practitioner's time, including: Billing and accounting Human resources and benefits administration Marketing and business development Technology and practice-management systems Paralegal and administrative support Office operations and general firm administration Our attorneys also benefit from working alongside experienced colleagues who are available for strategic consultation, collaboration, and additional support in complex matters. An established referral network or portable caseload is welcomed, although our primary objective is to find the right attorney and long-term professional fit. Responsibilities The attorney will independently manage a Colorado family law caseload, with responsibilities that include: Advising clients regarding divorce, allocation of parental responsibilities, child support, maintenance, property division, and post-decree matters Developing practical legal strategies tailored to each client's circumstances, needs, and objectives Managing matters from initial consultation through final resolution Drafting and reviewing pleadings, motions, agreements, disclosures, discovery, and correspondence Conducting legal research and analysis Negotiating with opposing counsel and self-represented parties Representing clients in mediation, conferences, evidentiary hearings, and trials Preparing witnesses, exhibits, and legal arguments for contested proceedings Maintaining clear, timely, and candid communication with clients Managing deadlines, client expectations, case strategy, and retainer considerations Collaborating effectively with the firm's attorneys, paralegals, and administrative staff Representing the firm professionally within the Colorado legal community Qualifications Qualified candidates will have: A minimum of five years of substantive Colorado family law experience An active Colorado law license in good standing The ability to independently manage a family law caseload Strong knowledge of Colorado domestic-relations law, procedure, and practice Meaningful experience in negotiation, mediation, evidentiary hearings, and trial Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical abilities Sound professional judgment and a solution-oriented approach The ability to advocate effectively when judicial intervention or litigation is necessary Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong organizational and case-management abilities A collaborative and client-centered approach Comfort working with contemporary legal technology and digital case-management systems An established professional reputation and involvement in the Colorado legal community Experience with trusts and estates is a plus but is not required. Compensation and Benefits The anticipated annual compensation range for this position is $125,000 to $300,000 . Compensation within this range will depend upon the attorney's experience, qualifications, caseload, portable business, and agreed-upon compensation structure.
