Position Summary The Family Law Paralegal plays a critical role in supporting attorneys and ensuring the efficient, high‑quality management of cases involving adoption, child custody and modification, dependency and neglect, and divorce matters. This position requires a seasoned professional with advanced knowledge of family law, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to work independently and in a team environment. Responsibilities include high‑level document preparation, client and witness interaction, legal research, case management, and trial support. Key Responsibilities Draft, review, and finalize complex legal documents, including divorce pleadings, custody agreements, financial disclosures, and discovery materials. Conduct in‑depth legal research and prepare concise, well‑organized summaries to support attorney strategy. Manage all aspects of case files, ensuring accuracy, organization, and compliance with deadlines. Serve as a primary point of contact for clients: gather information, provide updates, and maintain a professional, compassionate rapport. Prepare and file documents with the court, ensuring strict adherence to procedural rules and timelines. Coordinate discovery, including drafting requests, organizing evidence, and preparing witness statements. Enter, track, and maintain accurate time entries for all billable work, ensuring compliance with firm billing guidelines and contributing to overall billing integrity. Support trial preparation by organizing exhibits, creating trial binders, and assisting attorneys with logistics and strategy. Uphold the highest standards of confidentiality, ethics, and professionalism in all interactions. Required Skills & Abilities Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft clear, precise legal documents. Advanced understanding of legal terminology, family law principles, court procedures, and research methodologies. Strong leadership, interpersonal, and client‑service skills. Work Environment This is a full-time, in-office position. Remote or hybrid work arrangements are not available. Professional office setting with standard business hours.
