Prefer 3 years or more of state court experience in actually conducting hearings and trials, but will consider less experience for the right candidate. Must be a self-starter capable of working with a minimum of supervision, and able to manage work with paralegals on cases from start to finish. This is an active courtroom position as a first-chair trial lawyer. Candidate to manage their own case load with mentorship as desired. Qualifications are Actual hearing and trial experience, preferably in North Carolina courts. Time in court should be something you look forward to (past the typical jitters) and are not prone to avoid. The ability to manage a case load and work with paralegals and others to keep work flowing, provide a very high client satisfaction rate, and achieve good results under the circumstances. You must be well organized, self-motivated, and like what you do. Very strong writing and grammar skills. This is a point of emphasis here as it is about 80% of what we do every day. Ability to work with computer-based systems--everything is scanned and accessible on any device, we use Clio to manage our cases, and we use Office365 applications (Word, Excel, etc.). A people-driven orientation to life--we are serious about being positive parts of each other's lives in the office, and in the lives of the people we represent and deal with in the system.
