Senior Real Estate Transactional Attorney About the Role An AI Law Firm is looking for an experienced commercial real estate transactional attorney to join our team. This is a high-ambiguity, builder-mentality role for someone who can independently own deals end-to-end. Location Based in California (San Francisco preferred, in-office 3-4x/week), or open to candidates working US remote with monthly travel to San Francisco for team alignment week. Requirements Baseline (Required) Seniority 7-18 years of experience in commercial real estate transactional law, including acquisitions, dispositions, and joint ventures (JVs) Work Experience Direct, hands-on experience leading acquisitions, dispositions, or JV deals end-to-end — not solely in a supporting role to a partner Trained at an AmLaw 200 firm or an equivalent sophisticated in-house real estate role (e.g., REIT, private equity sponsor, or operator); AmLaw 100 experience preferred but not required Education J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school Active bar license in at least one U.S. jurisdiction Hard Skills Able to independently draft and negotiate Purchase and Sale Agreements (PSAs), closing documents, and diligence materials Fluent in title, survey, zoning, and environmental diligence for commercial and multifamily assets Familiarity with AI legal tools (e.g., Harvey, Legora), or a strong curiosity about applying AI to legal workflows Soft Skills High tolerance for ambiguity Builder mentality Nice-to-Have Work Experience In-house real estate experience at an owner, operator, or investor (brings client-side perspective) Experience representing owners, operators, real estate investors, or PE sponsors in portfolio or multifamily transactions Education California bar admission
