Job Description
We are looking for a litigation attorney with 3+ years of experience to join a reputable, 200+ attorney firm, serving hospitals and health plans. This position focuses on resolving complex disputes and advising clients on regulatory, operational, and contractual issues affecting care providers. The role offers a strong mix of counseling and dispute resolution work, with an emphasis on mediation and arbitration rather than frequent courtroom trials. This role can be remote, with a strong preference for candidates local to Southern California.
Responsibilities:
- Represent healthcare clients in litigation-related matters with a primary emphasis on mediation, arbitration, and other dispute resolution proceedings.
- Counsel health plans, hospitals, and related organizations on healthcare regulations, compliance obligations, and day-to-day operational legal issues.
- Provide legal guidance on reimbursement matters, including issues involving public healthcare programs and managed care arrangements.
- Advise clients on health information privacy and security requirements and support risk management efforts related to sensitive data.
- Assist with healthcare transactions, including merger and acquisition matters, by evaluating legal risks and supporting deal execution.
- Prepare motions, briefs, discovery materials, and other legal documents in support of active healthcare disputes.
- Maintain a practice consistent with an annual billable expectation of 1,850 hours, with eligible pro bono time counting toward that target.
Perks of Firm:
- Work-from-anywhere policy.
- The healthcare team is woman run; it's a combination of litigators and transactional lawyers.
- Good community, despite being mostly remote. Every office has weekly lunches and regular practice group meetings.
- Employee resource groups for certain demographics / employees interested in certain topics.
