K-Ridge Law Group LLC is a boutique business law firm based in Duluth, Georgia, representing domestic and international companies, with a significant client base consisting of Korean corporations doing business in the United States. Our practice focuses on corporate and commercial matters, contract and business disputes, and complex commercial litigation, with a significant and growing concentration in construction-related matters. We are seeking an attorney to join our growing practice. We are open to candidates at two experience levels: A junior attorney with approximately 1-3 years of experience who is interested in developing a broad practice in business law and commercial litigation; and A seasoned attorney with 7+ years of substantial litigation experience , preferably with significant experience in construction law and construction disputes.
Position Summary:
The attorney will work directly with the firm's managing attorney and clients on a wide range of sophisticated business and litigation matters. For a junior attorney, this position offers substantial hands-on experience in contract drafting and negotiation, corporate advisory work, litigation, arbitration, discovery, legal research, and case strategy. For a senior attorney, we are particularly interested in an experienced litigator who can take a meaningful role in managing complex commercial and construction disputes, including arbitration and litigation, and contribute to the continued development of the firm's construction practice.
Key Responsibilities:
Advise clients regarding commercial contracts, corporate governance, business transactions, and related legal matters. Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements and other business documents. Represent clients in commercial litigation, arbitration, and construction-related disputes. Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests and responses, and other litigation documents. Conduct legal research and factual investigation and assist in developing case strategy. Manage discovery, document review, depositions, hearings, and other phases of litigation as appropriate to experience level. Communicate directly with clients and develop strong, long-term client relationships. Work closely with Korean and international companies operating in the United States. Qualifications -
Junior Attorney:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school. Active membership in the Georgia Bar, or eligibility for prompt admission. Approximately 1-3 years of legal experience. Experience or demonstrated interest in commercial litigation, business law, contracts, or construction law. Strong legal research, analytical, and writing skills. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple matters. Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with other attorneys and clients. Korean-language proficiency is strongly preferred but not required. Qualifications -
Senior Attorney:
We also strongly encourage applications from experienced attorneys who have: At least seven (7) years of substantial litigation experience; Significant experience handling commercial litigation, arbitration, or complex business disputes; Meaningful experience with construction law and construction disputes , including matters involving construction contracts, payment disputes, change orders, delay claims, liens, subcontractor disputes, or related issues; Strong brief-writing, discovery, deposition, hearing, and case-management experience; The ability to independently manage significant matters and work directly with sophisticated corporate clients; and An interest in taking a substantial role in the continued growth of the firm's litigation and construction practice. Trial and arbitration experience is particularly valued.
Compensation:
For junior-level candidates, the anticipated salary range is $120,000-$150,000 per year , depending on experience and qualifications. For senior attorneys with substantial construction and litigation experience, compensation, title, and other terms will be negotiated separately and will reflect the candidate's experience, qualifications, existing capabilities, and anticipated role within the firm.
