Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Labor and Employment Attorney to join our legal team. In this pivotal role, you will provide expert legal counsel on a broad spectrum of employment-related issues, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws. Your expertise will guide the organization through complex employment disputes, negotiations, and policy development, fostering a fair and compliant workplace environment. Responsibilities Advise small to medium sized businesses on employment law compliance, including wage and hour laws, workplace safety regulations, and anti-discrimination statutes Draft, review, and negotiate employment contracts, settlement agreements, and employee policies to mitigate legal risks Represent the organization in employment-related litigation, including depositions and trial preparation Conduct thorough legal research using Westlaw to stay current on evolving employment law statutes and case law Manage employment law cases involving wrongful termination, harassment claims, or wage disputes with clear communication to clients Lead investigations into employee complaints and assist in resolving disputes through negotiation or alternative dispute resolution methods Prepare legal motions, pleadings, and memoranda for court proceedings while maintaining meticulous case management records Qualifications Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school with active bar membership in CA. Proven experience practicing employment law with a strong understanding of statutory legal research and procedural law knowledge Familiarity with labor laws related to union negotiations, workplace safety (OSHA), and employee rights Demonstrated ability to handle personal injury cases related to workplace incidents or other employment-related injuries Excellent research skills utilizing Westlaw platforms for case law analysis and statutory interpretation Strong legal writing skills with experience drafting contracts, legal motions, and client correspondence Effective negotiation skills with a track record of successful dispute resolution in employment contexts Class/PAGA experience & litigation is highly desirable Join us as we champion fair labor practices while providing top-tier legal support. $101,370.33 - $122,080.39 per year
