The ideal candidate possesses a passion for the legal field, litigation, and thinking outside the box. Duties Manage and litigate a load of cases. Keep track of and bill time daily using Clio. Prepare and file legal motions, pleadings, briefs, and other court documents with precision and adherence to procedural laws. Conduct comprehensive legal research using Westlaw to support case strategies and ensure compliance with current statutes and regulations. Manage case files efficiently using Clio; track case progress and deadlines diligently. Communicate effectively with insurance carriers and provide timely status reports Candidate will handle a full-time caseload based in Irvine, CA with a mix of in-office and work-from-home responsibilities.

Day-to-day tasks include:

Managing civil litigation files from inception through resolution Drafting pleadings and motions Conducting legal research Preparing case strategy Taking and defending depositions Engaging in discovery Appearing in courts for hearings and trials Negotiating settlements when appropriate Work closely with clients, claims professionals, and colleagues to provide timely updates, assess case exposure, and recommend litigation strategies. Participation in case conferences, maintaining accurate file documentation, and meeting deadlines are integral to this position. Qualifications Strong foundation in Law, including civil litigation, insurance defense, and applicable procedural rules. Experience drafting and arguing Motions, with solid legal research and writing skills. Familiarity with Courts at the state level, including rules of evidence, procedure, and local practices. Proven ability to handle Trials, including case preparation, witness examination, and courtroom advocacy. Experience conducting Depositions of parties, experts, and fact witnesses, with effective questioning and evaluation skills. Active license to practice law in California, in good standing. Excellent analytical, organizational, and time-management abilities, with attention to detail. Strong communication skills for interaction with clients, colleagues, and court personnel. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid environment, balancing office and remote work. Prior experience in general liability, construction defect, commercial litigation, or insurance defense is preferred, but not necessary.
