Role Description The Managing Attorney is a full-time, hybrid role based in Springfield, MO, with travel and field work required amongst other offices in Missourj along I44. This role oversees case strategy and execution across practice areas, providing direct representation, supervising attorneys and support staff, and ensuring that matters are pushed forward efficiently and effectively. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting legal research, drafting and reviewing pleadings and motions, managing negotiations and settlement discussions, and appearing in court and administrative proceedings as needed. The Managing Attorney will guide client communication, maintain high standards of advocacy, and implement systems that support quality control and timely progress on all files. The role also involves mentoring team members, contributing to firm policies and procedures, and supporting business development initiatives aligned with the firm's mission. Qualifications Strong foundation in Law, with demonstrated experience managing complex litigation or multi-matter caseloads. Knowledge of Labor and Employment Law or related practice areas, with the ability to apply statutes and case law to client matters. Ability to provide clear, practical Legal Advice to clients and team members, including risk assessment and strategic guidance. Advanced Research skills for case law, statutes, regulations, and factual investigation. Effective Negotiation skills for settlements, plea agreements, and other dispute resolutions. Active license to practice law in Missouri, in good standing. Several years of progressively responsible experience as an attorney, including leadership or supervisory responsibilities. Excellent written and oral advocacy skills, including drafting pleadings, motions, and correspondence. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage deadlines, prioritize tasks, and oversee multiple matters simultaneously. Commitment to ethical practice, client-centered service, and collaborative teamwork. Comfort with legal technology, case management systems, and remote collaboration tools. Willingness to work on-site in Springfield, MO on a regular schedule, with flexibility for hybrid arrangements.
